Norway cheer team earns honors

NORWAY — The Competitive Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan has announced its honors. The Norway High School varsity competitive cheer athletes took home All-State, All-Regional and All-District Honors in Division 4.
NHS varsity competitive cheer team were Division 4 MHSAA District Champions and took second at Regional Competition to advance to the state final competition at Central Michigan University. The team also placed first in the regular season of competition.
“This season was such an experience,” Head Coach Hailey Micoley said. “These girls worked so hard to make it all the way and they did that. To say we are proud of them is an understatement.”
“We cant wait to come back next year even stronger,” Micoley said.
Individual award winners follow:
All-State
First Team — Senior Paige Roberts; Second Team — Sophomores Jenna Ramlow; Honorable Mention — Sophomore Amara Humpreys.
All-Regional
First Team — Paige Roberts; senior Hallee Jacobson; Jenna Ramlow and Amara Humphreys; Second Team — Junior Alexis Downs; junior Erica Hales and sophomore Kaylee Gendron; Honorable Mention — Sophomore Tessa Castelaz and freshman Riley Hales.
All-District
First Team — Paige Roberts; Hallee Jacobson; Alexis Downs; Erica Hales; Jenna Ramlow; and Amara Humphreys; Second Team — Tessa Castelaz; Riley Hales, and Freshman Emily Carlson Honorable Mention — Junior Joey Bourg; Sophomore Chloe Mitchem and Kaylee Gendron.
