Crivitz’s Schramm baffles Badgers in 7-1 M&O win
NIAGARA, Wis. — Jackson Schramm allowed one run and struck out 13 to lead Crivitz to a 7-1 victory over Niagara in a Marinette and Oconto Conference contest Thursday in Crivitz.
The Badgers scored their lone run in the top of the third when Gavin Neuens doubled and Remi Buchanon singled him home.
Buchanon then stole a base but was stranded, one of six Niagara runners to be left on base.
“We are just struggling right now at the plate,” Niagara coach Brad Richtig said. “Having a hard time generating anything at this point. But hats off to Schramm, he pitched very well and had our number right from the start.”
AJ Sweig started on the hill for Niagara and pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing one hit, four earned runs and four walks. He struck out three in his outing.
Buchanan came on in relief in the second and went the rest of the way. He allowed three hits, no earned runs, walked two and fanned seven.
