KINGSFORD — Eighteen high school wrestling teams from Michigan and Wisconsin met up in Kingsford on Saturday for the Ray Mariucci Invitational tournament.
The Kingsford, Iron Mountain, North Central, Florence and Norway varsity squads were all in attendance with multiple local athletes being crowned as champions.

The Flivvers were followed by Menominee, 152.5; Negaunee, 121.5; Escanaba, 104.5; and Munising, 100.5. North Central took home seventh with 70.5 points, while Iron Mountain grabbed 12th and Norway took 13th. Florence ended the day in 15th place.

Kelley received a first round bye and his semi finals opponent dropped out due to a medical forfeit. He ended the day 1-0, pinning Kingsford’s Brettin Rouse in the first round of the title match. He has a chance at 150-career wins Thursday in Iron Mountain.
