LADY TROJANS 3, EAGLES 0

CRYSTAL FALLS — All season long, the Forest Park varsity volleyball has been powering through any team placed in front of it.

That didn’t change on Wednesday as the Lady Trojans easily swept Skyline Central Conference foe Stephenson 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-3) in a Division 4 District 99 semi finals matchup at Eddie Chambers Gymnasium.

“We had a bit of a slow start, mainly because of nerves, but it didn’t take long for the girls to find their rhythm, gain confidence and take control of the game,” Forest Park head coach Bobbie Jo Anderson said. “Offensively, we varied our shots and made sure to involve a lot of our hitters. Defensively, we covered the floor well and made it tough for Stephenson to get any momentum. I’m so proud of these girls–they’re peaking at just the right time.”

Lily Curnow led the way for the Lady Trojans with 16 digs.

Forest Park also received contributions from Ava Fischer (16 kills, 3 blocks, 9 digs, 5 aces), Harper Anderson (1 kill, 2 assists, 5 digs), Evie Anderson (3 kills, 6 digs), Tessa Bartoszek (3 digs), Elsie Williams (5 kills, 12 assists, 9 digs), Ellie Ayers (7 kills, 1 block), Dalaney Wagner (1 dig), Ella Gasperich (2 kills) and Vienna Price (18 assists, 4 digs, 3 aces).

With the win, the Lady Trojans advanced to the D4 District 99 finals on Thursday. Forest Park faced off with Carney-Nadeau in the Eddie Chambers Gymnasium and won 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-11).

Full coverage of all three district championship match ups will be available in Saturday’s edition of The Daily News.
