Major change in receipt program

EDITOR:

Super One recently made changes to its Community Dollars program. Non-profits benefiting from this wonderful sharing platform could receive 1 cent for every $1 of grocery receipts we turn in to the store. That doesn’t seem like much, but it adds up and can be used for the betterment of our community.

Unfortunately, we now have to have $30,000 worth of receipts before we’re eligible to participate. We must meet this quota every three months each and every quarter to qualify for $300 Community Dollars. Miss the deadline for even one quarter and the non-profit organization is out of the program.

I volunteer at the Breen Senior Center and there’s no way we can hope to reach this new goal. If there are any other organizations in our area that find themselves in the same predicament, please reach out to me and let’s brainstorm to find an equitable solution. Many groups are helped by this program and maybe if we work together, we can continue to benefit by this small but highly significant extra income. My number is in the phone book or call the Breen Center on Monday mornings. God bless.
