Note of gratitude and a challenge for the future
As I step down from my position as county commissioner after 12 years of service, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared. Serving our community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Together, this county board has navigated challenges and celebrated successes, always striving to make our county a better place for its residents. I am proud to say that we leave the county in an excellent position — financially sound and poised for continued economic growth and progress. This is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of so many people who care deeply about this community.
To my colleagues, staff, citizens and the many partners I have had the privilege of working alongside: thank you. Your expertise, commitment, and camaraderie have made my time as a commissioner not only productive but deeply meaningful. I will miss the dynamic exchanges, the shared purpose, and the friendships that have been forged over these years.
As I transition to the next chapter of my life, I would like to extend a challenge to the new commissioners: continue to build on the solid foundation we have created. Embrace innovation, encourage growth, and ensure that every decision is made with the well-being of our residents in mind. The future of our county holds immense promise, and your leadership will be instrumental in turning that promise into reality.
Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your commissioner. I look forward to watching the continued growth and success of Dickinson County.
