Nothing worthwhile is easy in life and that includes our response to difficult situations, whether it be personal relationships, work, etc. … No matter if insulted or unjustly treated in some other manner, our reply can determine how detrimental the effect of the situation is on us as human beings.

One of my favorite quotes by an anonymous author is: “I have never regretted taking the high road.” It’s easy to get defensive or fire back with a stinging reply but taking the high road never is. That is exactly why it is so worthwhile to us as people.

So, keep that quote somewhere tucked away safe and take it out now and then to remind yourself of its value: “I have never regretted taking the high road.” And to be forthright neither have I.
