Are we a nation in decline?

Was this election an indication of a nation on a hill? I would answer that by looking at how the national values, honesty, and economic decisions that strive to keep a nation strong, and benefit all its people by lifting up those groups that greed and capitalism harms, elects honest leadership, and strives to treat all people with empathy and respect, and practice the humanity most churches preach every Sunday. This takes a public that makes decisions on facts obtained from nonpartisan sources, listening to candidates and understanding their history, accept what a candidate says as a reflection of empathy, honesty and policy toward his self interest and the treatment of those groups that disagree with him/her. In my judgment the nation completely failed in their choice by failing to understand the complexity of economics, the lack of any constructive plan going forward, and the affirming of the bigotry and hate of the past.

It appears to me we are at the beginning of following many nations in history who opted for leadership that feed fear and division and a majority that doesn’t stand up for those things that make a nation good in the sight of God and man. In my opinion we are going into a period of significant corruption, moral decline and rejection by Western nations.
