Hands down, Kamala Harris defeated Donald Trump in their first debate.

Of course, blame is now being shifted to the two ABC moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, that they favored the vice president and that is the reason former president Trump lost the debate.

Yes, the moderators were slanted toward Harris, but fact of the matter is Trump lost the debate because he did not prepare enough for it. A debate is no different than a sporting event and as any good coach will tell you, “Preparation is everything.”

Quite honestly, the moderators gave him a pass on a very important issue. Trump has stated openly he will use the National Guard and military to round up the 11 million to 15 million illegal residents in this country. When asked how he intended to do that, Trump completely avoided answering it, and the moderators did not follow up by asking him the question again for an answer.

I was hoping he would be pressed for a distinct answer concerning this, because if one puts thought into the issue, the only way to accomplish the goal would be the necessity of searching house to house in many areas. These people are not congregated in one specific area living on the street.

The idea of military soldiers knocking on doors and demanding entry into homes is not something America is known for. Nor should it ever be.
