Fred E. “Ed” Patrick III, MD
TOPEKA, Kan. — Fred E. “Ed” Patrick III, MD, died peacefully on March 29, 2025, with family at his side.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan. to Fred E. Patrick Jr. and Fae (Evans) Patrick (Eisenbrandt). Ed was raised by his mother, Fae, and Leslie L. Eisenbrandt after Fred Jr.’s death in 1951.
Ed married Jane M. Noyce on June 1, 1968, and they enjoyed nearly 57 years of marriage.
Ed graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1963, Baylor University in 1967, and Kansas University Medical School in 1971. He trained and worked in the U.S. Navy until he came to Topeka in 1977, where he practiced general pediatrics with Pediatrics P.A., later Stormont Vail PediatricCare, until his retirement in 2011.
Ed liked to fish, hunt, take photographs, and spend time with his family. He was a member of Topeka First United Methodist Church. Ed was also dyslexic and appreciated brief obituaries.
Ed is survived by his wife, Jane Patrick; son, Luke (Christine) Patrick of Portland, Ore.; daughter Elise Patrick of Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Patrick of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Jacob, Evie, Melia and Lauren; brothers, Jim (Lou) Eisenbrandt of Leawood, Kan. and Dave (Carolyn) Eisenbrandt of Parker, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee “Bob” Patrick and his son, Joshua Robert Patrick.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Topeka First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Boulevard, Topeka, KS 66603.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Stormont Vail Foundation, Midland Hospice, First United Methodist Church in Topeka, or Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
