1956-2025
IRON MOUNTAIN — Cheryl Lynn Rose, 68, of Iron Mountain, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Bellin Health Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., after a brief illness.
Cheryl was born on Oct. 30, 1956, in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of the late Darrel and Charlotte (Rigoni) Rose.
Throughout her childhood, she lived the typical Army lifestyle, traveling all over the U.S. and back to Germany several times.
In 1972, they settled in Kingsford after her father retired from the Army. She attended Kingsford High School and graduated in 1975.
Cheryl worked for the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital as the head cook for 35 years and retired in the spring of 2021.
In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and grew some of the most beautiful flowers and vegetables. She thoroughly enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She loved to cook and always enjoyed making gnocchis with her granddaughters. Cheryl loved watching her granddaughters play and excel in sports.
As a young lady, she enjoyed playing volleyball and played softball for Big Boy, where she worked at the time.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Michelle and her granddaughters, Ashlyn, Miley and Emma Van Den Heuvel of Florence, Wis.; her brother, Dean (Robin) Rose of Norway Township; sisters, Brenda (Kent) Aderman of Kingsford and Wanda (Rick) Sherman of Iron Mountain; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many special friends she made throughout the years.
Per Cheryl’s wishes, there will not a be a service, but there will be a celebration of life this summer.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Care Team at Bellin for the amazing care and help through this difficult time.
