DULUTH, Minn. — It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Lora Ann Dynek, 53, of Duluth, Minn., on Feb. 27, 2025. Lora passed away suddenly from a medical condition, leaving her family and friends heartbroken by this unexpected loss.
Lora was born on May 7, 1971, in Lansing, Mich. to Colin and Paulette Jacobetti. Her family moved to Iron Mountain in 1982. She attended Iron Mountain High School and graduated with the class of 1990. She enjoyed participating in school activities, with cross-country being her favorite sport.
She was a kindhearted, compassionate, and selfless woman whose unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She was supportive, nurturing, and inspiring, always putting others before herself. Lora’s kindness, love, and deep commitment to her family will forever be cherished. Her spirit and the impact she made on those around her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lora is survived by her loving husband, Kurt Dynek, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Brooke Bengtson, Lauren and Luke Dynek, and a proud grandmother to Liam and Nolin Bengtson.
Lora is also survived by her parents, Colin and Paulette Jacobetti, and her siblings, Colette (Gerard) Choryan and their children, Brittany (Shaun) Hale and their daughter, Sophia, and Nicholas (Alyssa) Choryan and their daughter, Rory; Colin M. (Lorrie) Jacobetti and their children, Alaina and Evan; Shelly (Michael) Jacobetti-Weeks and their children, Jaiden and Jamison. She is also survived by the Dynek family and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Memorial services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Msgr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
