PEMBINE, Wis. — Lois F. (Helander) Kidd, longtime resident of the Pembine area, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her home.
Daughter of the late Frank and Muriel (Anderson) Pirlot, she was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Kingsford. She graduated from Felch High School in 1955.
On Nov. 17, 1984 she married Francis Kidd at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. She was very involved in their young lives and enjoyed being their Cub Scouts “Den Mother” while they were growing up. Lois had many interests over the years including crocheting, camping, traveling in the family motorhome, dancing, and singing in the choir. She was a longtime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Lois leaves behind her husband, Francis; children, Gary (Colleen) Helander of Pittsburg, Linda Whiting of Breitung Township, and Cindy (Ben Sharp) Baril of Lawrenceville, Ga., Bill (Christine) Kidd, Chris (Gail) Kidd, Linda (Jeff) Peterson and Susan Verstoppen of Green Bay, Wis.; brothers, David Isaacson of Kingsford and Eugene (Diana) Pirlot of Georgia; sisters, Laurel (Jerry) Courteau of Glendale, Ariz. and Patricia Lund of Georgia; and special cousin, Mary Kay Hendrickson. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Isaacson and Donna Opsahl; and son-in-law, Robert Whiting.
A visitation for Lois will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A 6 p.m. service will follow officiated by Rev. Nicole A.M. Collins.
