STEVE MARBLE

QUINNESEC — Steve Marble, 69, of Quinnesec, passed away at home on Feb. 12, 2025, being cared for by his wife and girls along with Hospice from the UP Health System.

He was born in International Falls, Minn., on July 2, 1955, to Barbara and Lewis Marble of Ray, Minn.

Steve was married to Patricia Baldwin for over 48 years. They lived in International Falls until the Insulite Division of Boise Cascade closed. He then accepted a maintenance technician job at the new Champion Mill in Quinnesec, where he was employed for over 25 years. He was also a carpenter and built his family two homes.

Steve had a love for fast cars and rock music.

He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed maintaining their snowmobiles and ATVs. If not in his shop, he could be found inside with a good book. As a talented pianist with perfect pitch, music flowed from Steve’s soul.

Steve is survived by his wife, Patti; their two daughters, Jean (Kyle) Lein and Sara (Sam) Galvin; his mother, Barbara Marble; brother, Rod (Char) Marble. He has five grandchildren, Asher Lein, Livie Lein, Griffin Lein, Amelia Galvin and Lincoln Galvin. He leaves behind many extended family members and his closest friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Marble; a brother, Kevin and his wife Joyce Marble, and his in-laws, Arnold and Helen Baldwin.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain, with Pastor Kevin Taylor from Marquette officiating the funeral service at 5 pm.

Burial will be in International Falls, Minn.

The family would like to thank the Bellin Health Cancer Team and their dedicated staff for all of the kindness and compassion shown to Steve.
