Karen Seelund
FELCH — Karen Lee Seelund, 78, of Felch, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Kingsford.
Karen was born June 1, 1946, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Barr) Brozovich.
A graduate of Kingsford High School, she married Robert Seelund on Aug. 30, 1969, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.
Karen was a bookkeeper for the power company for many years. She bartended for Polly Rankin and worked for Steinbrecher Potato Farm alongside her daughter, Ellen.
A breast cancer survivor, she enjoyed reading, drawing, writing poetry and calligraphy, doing puzzles and watching the birds. She also loved visiting friends at the local tavern with her husband.
She was never afraid to use the word “Jesus Christ” or give a one finger “SEELUND SALUTE” when she became upset.
Karen is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Ellen (Terry) Steffes and Angel Seelund; her children, Julie (Gary) Kofford, Jeffrey Seelund (Jamie Boone) and Gina Geline (John Niggeling); 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many special friends.
Along with her parents, Karen is preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, Reggie Nord and Jeremy Lindstrom; and a grandson, Jeffrey Kofford.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
