Daniel K. Leffler

Daniel K. Leffler
FLORENCE, Wis. — It is with great sadness that I share the sudden and unexpected passing of my father.
Daniel K. Leffler, 69, of Florence, Wis., passed away on Feb. 14, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1956, in Crystal Falls, Mich., a son of the late Paul and Shirley (Schlanert) Leffler. Dan grew up in Florence and graduated from Florence High School, class of 1974.
A standout football player for the Florence Bobcats, Dan earned an All-State honorable mention as a linebacker during his senior year.
After high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Once retiring from the Niagara Paper Mill, Dan fulfilled his dream by purchasing a farm and embracing the life of an avid farmer. Whether working on his farm or enjoying a cold drink with friends, Dan’s heart was always in those moments.
Above all, Dan was a dedicated father and grandfather to his daughter, BrieAnne and granddaughters, Isabella and Tinsley, who meant the world to him. He had a great love and loyalty to his family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, and cherished the time spent together.
He is survived by his daughter, BrieAnne Leffler (Jesse Jacobson); granddaughters, Isabella Gussert, and Tinsley Jacobson; four brothers, Richard (Paula) Leffler, Donald (Beanie) Leffler, Terry (Pam) Leffler, and Doug Leffler; three sisters, Patricia Spencer, Paula (Donald) Vassar, and Laurie Baker; as well as 25 nieces and nephews; 32 great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Leffler; his brother-in-law, Andy Spencer; and his sisters, Frances Leffler, and Kathleen Jezeski.
Dan was known for his hard work and took great pride in all he accomplished. He had a knack for making everyone around him feel loved, and if he ever gave you a hard time, you knew you were a true friend. Dan was very quick-witted and often drew many laughs. His signature smirk will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
