Zakkary Vandenhouten

Zakk was born in Madison, Wis. on Nov. 14, 2024.

He overcame many challenges in his brief time here. After being born with spina bifida, he underwent surgery and faced one challenge after another, but he was a fighter.

His parents were so excited to have a son, and they had many hopes and dreams for Zakkery despite the health challenges he faced.

He was baptized by Pastor Irene White. He was called home to be with the Lord at two months old.

He is loved and will be forever missed by his mother, Maggie Steinbrecher; his father, Ricky Vandenhouten; maternal grandparents, Paul and Madelynn Steinbrecher of Felch; paternal grandparents, Armando and Carmen Brasil and great-grandma Jean Vincent. He is further survived by his aunts, Mollie Steinbrecher and Stacy (Armando Jr.) Brasil; and cousin, Tabitha Coppens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Irene White officiating.

Interment will follow at Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
