Aaron Kranz
KINGSFORD — Aaron John Kranz, 65, son of the late Gary and Barbara Kranz from Kingsford, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
Aaron was a man of many talents and passions who cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his younger years, he worked in construction, was a male model and actor, earning a notable credit in the movie “Escanaba in da Moonlight.” A gifted artist and avid bicyclist, Aaron also enjoyed thrifting and collecting unique items with his wife, Brenda, that reflected his eclectic personality.
A true Yooper woodsman at heart, Aaron was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and outdoor enthusiast. He built multiple cabins and embraced life with an adventurous spirit — always willing to try anything once, even choosing to live without power and water. Aaron always looked forward to hiking into the woods with his brothers, Fraser and Kyle Kranz, to set up camp surrounded by nature’s tranquility.
Aaron met his wife Brenda early in life and reconnected in 1998. They married in 2000 in Iron Mountain, and shared 26 wonderful years together, living in San Diego and Kingsford.
Aaron is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; two sons, John (Bianca) Kranz and Jake (Kaylee) Kranz; two stepdaughters, Melissa (Mike) Ebsch and Korri (Aaron) Vogel; brothers, Fraser Kranz and Kyle (Dawn) Kranz; 13 beloved grandchildren, including Brett, Brady, and Taylor, along with two great-grandchildren; his former spouse and friend, Lorrie St. Amant; and many special nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
In accordance with Aaron’s wishes, no funeral will be held. A Celebration of Life for family and friends is being planned for a later date. Burial will take place at Quinnesec Cemetery at that time. Arrangements are being handled by Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
May Aaron’s adventurous spirit and artistic legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
