Duane Lundamo
1947-2024
NORWAY — Duane Harold Lundamo, 77, of Norway, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1947, in Norway, the son of the late Fred and Gertrude (Warmuth) Lundamo.
Duane graduated from Norway High School in 1966. He drove truck for Causley and Roth Trucking, which hauled U.S. mail from Kingsford to St. Ignace. Duane recorded 2.5 million miles driving, won several safe driving awards for not having any accidents.
Duane was a true Norway Knight; he could be seen at almost every Knights sporting event. He was Knights Fan of the Year in 2014 and you could always count on Duane cheering for his home town school. He won awards from TOPS Michigan and their TOPPS International King in 1995.
Duane was the Dickinson County Ambulance administrator, an EMT and paramedic. He had an amateur radio license, was a Lake Antoine Park Campground host and he sat on the board of the Norway-Vulcan Senior Center.
A lifelong member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway, and he will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Duane is survived by his brother, Ronald Lundamo; nephew, Mark Lundamo; niece, Rhonda Pickrell; and is uncle to four children who all live in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Family will greet friends on Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Jim Danielson, officiating.
Interment will be held at the Quinnesec Cemetery.
