Chris C. Nelson

Chris was born May 8, 1941 in Milwaukee, son of the late William and Gwendolyn (Kuphal) Nelson. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

Chris worked as a wood shop teacher in the public school system for many years. He also owned and operated an appliance store in Waupaca, Wis. for several years.

Chris married Margrietha ter Mors on Aug. 22, 2003, in Kewaunee, Wis. Chris was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Florence, Wis. and served on the East Central Synod of Wisconsin Lay Ministers Board of Directors. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Margrietha; six children; a brother, William Nelson; several grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor David Johnson will officiate.
