William ‘Bill’ Harvey
KINGSFORD — William “Bill” Harvey, 86, of Kingsford passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at his camp in Waucedah.
Bill was born on Dec. 29, 1937, in Norway, son of the late Roy and Bernice (Roland) Harvey. He graduated from Vulcan High School in 1956 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Bill married Joan Perin on Oct. 18, 1958, and the couple shared 46 years of marriage together. Joan preceded him in death on May 30, 2004.
In 1979, Bill started Harvey Pattern in Kingsford which he owned and operated for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Oak Crest Golf Course. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and spending time at camp. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his sons, Jim (Kris) Harvey of Little Suamico, Wis. and Jeff (Christy) Harvey of Iron Mountain; a special friend, Judy Tipper; a sister, Shirley Gendron of Vulcan; six grandchildren, Nathan Harvey (fiance, Taylor Jacobson), Melissa Harvey, Mitchell Harvey, Lauren Harvey, Kyle (Mandy) Larson, and Matthew (Emma) Larson; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Vivio.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bill’s name.
