Marilyn Steeno
1931-2024
NIAGARA, Wis. — Marilyn Steeno, 93, passed away on Nov. 23, 2024, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.
Marilyn was born in Vulcan on Sept. 2, 1931, the youngest and last surviving of 11 children of Polish immigrants, Michael Sr. and Rose (Musica) Opolka.
She lived and worked on the family farm, and the sewing factory in Vulcan. She married Eugene Steeno Jr. on Oct. 19, 1957, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.
They made their home in Niagara, where she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, and was an excellent baker, especially of cookies. Her husband preceded her in death in 2013.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Richard (Ruth) Steeno; granddaughters, Katelyn Steeno, Elizabeth (Jon) Faust, and Victoria (Cassidy) Hart; great-grandchildren, Vivian and George Hart; and a whole heap of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by three brothers, Adam, John, and Michael Jr., and seven sisters, Nora, Catherine, Ann, Julia, Stella, Helen, and Rose.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maryhill Manor for their excellent care and compassion. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
