Linda R. Henderson

She was born Oct. 26, 1949, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth Van Marter. Linda grew up in the Kingsford-Iron Mountain area. On Feb. 14, 1975, she married James (Russ) Henderson. Linda loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Linda enjoyed many hobbies including singing in the choir at her church, sewing, quilting, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite place on earth to vacation was Disney World in Orlando. She especially loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her son, Raymond; her brothers, Dave and Steve Van Marter; and her great-grandson, Finnigan.

Survivors include her husband, Russ Henderson of Leesburg; two daughters, Suzanne (Barry) Lehto of Edwardsville, Kan. and Melissa Henderson of Iron Mountain; one brother, Dennis (Susie) Van Marter of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Tommy Smith III of Parkville, Mo., Crystal (Zac) McIntyre of Le Compton, Kan., Ashleigh Laws of Phoenix, and Chris Henderson of Iron Mountain, and five great-grandchildren Wyatt, Greta, Sugar Magnolia, Oliver, and Bear; one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Family Baptist Church 1001 S. Hemlock St. Kingsford, MI 49801 on July 22, at 11 a.m. for friends and family. Burial will take place in Quinnesec cemetery.
