Joseph S. Hiller

ESCANABA — Joseph S. Hiller, 54, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Joe was born July 24, 1969, in Dearborn, Mich., son of John and Janis (Baldwin) Hiller. He served in the United States Army in South Korea, until his honorable discharge in 1991.
After his discharge, Joe lived in Florida for 20 years before moving to Escanaba.
Joe loved his country and was a die-hard Republican. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and his dad John played for the team. Joe ran a Detroit Tigers fan page on Facebook with many followers. He was also a Detroit Lions fan and loved the game of golf. Joe had to quit golfing when he broke his back helping his fellow residents out of a burning building.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, John and Linette Hiller of Iron Mountain; three sons, Tyler, Jonathan and Scott Hiller; two sisters, Wendy (Jack) Hiller and Danielle (Jay) Brisson; step-brother, Joseph Sabatini; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in both Canada and Minnesota.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Janis Baldwin-Hiller.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Angel, who was previously married to Joe, for all her care and compassion throughout his many illnesses.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, private family services will be held.
