Carol Jean (Christesen) Meyer

She was born in Florence, Wis., on May 18, 1942, daughter of the late Ode and Hazel (Johnson) Christesen. Carol graduated with honors from Florence High School and later attended North Park College in Chicago. On June 25, 1966, Carol married the love of her life, John “Nick” Meyer, at First Covenant Church.

A longtime member of First Covenant Church, Carol served many years on the church board as secretary, and also played the piano for Sunday school and during church. Carol also worked for 42 years as a legal secretary for Walter Dalla Grana, A C Wittkopf, as well as Brent Dalla Grana of Florence County Abstract. Any opportunity for both international and domestic travel were welcomed. Carol visited most of the 50 states, Mexico and Europe. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. Carol was a loving and kind person who will be greatly missed.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jerri Meyer; two nieces, Jan Gehlhoff and Missy (Chris) Hubacher; three nephews, Bob (Pattie) Gehlhoff, Jim (Donna) Christesen and Jon (Jessica) Meyer; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Tueday at First Covenant Church: 125 East H Street in Iron Mountain, with Rev. Chad Harrison officiating the funeral service at noon.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Gehlhoff, Jon Meyer, Chris Hubacher, Caleb Meyer, Zachary Meyer and Noah Hubacher.
