HOMESTEAD, Wis. — Larry Michael Olson, 65, of Homestead, Wis. passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 19, 2023, due to an epileptic seizure.
Larry was born on July 20, 1957, in Iron Mountain to Henry “Hank” and Vernice (Anderson) Olson. He graduated from Florence High School in 1975. Two years later Larry received an associate degree in electronics from Fox Valley Tech.
He started working as an installer for Jones Intercable TV and worked his way up to vice president of the company. Ever the entrepreneur, Larry moved into research and development in the dental supply industry. Larry’s work took him to Malaysia for about 17 years, where he met his beloved Miew, mother of Andar. She passed away suddenly when Andar was just one year old, leaving only Larry to parent his toddler in a foreign country.
In God’s providence, Bina came to work as a nanny, and they eventually were married. They then had two sons, Andar and Addrian. Their family was happy and complete. Due to health concerns, Larry and Andar returned to the USA, and they lived in Homestead. While back in the states he also was employed at Home Depot in Iron Mountain.
Larry loved gardening and cooking. He was also a talented guitarist and singer. He loved music and used it to share God’s love with people everywhere from churches to nursing homes. His passion was to share the love of God with others. Larry will be remembered for his kind and giving nature.
