HERMANSVILLE — Eugene “Gene” E. Bellmore, 91, Hermansville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1929, in Hermansville, son of Walter and Viola (Peterson) Bellmore Sr. When Gene was three years old, his mother passed away and his father married Irene (Krohn) Bellmore who raised Gene and became his mother.

On June 28, 1952, Gene married the former Rose Schebber in Two Rivers, Wis.

Eugene loved being in the outdoors, especially hunting, cutting firewood and hoeing in his garden. He was always so proud of the vegetables he grew and took much pride in sharing them with anyone who stopped by for a visit.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years; a brother, Walter Bellmore Jr.; eight children, E. Scott (Kelly) Bellmore, A. Paul (Doreen) Bellmore, Judith Kisala, Steven (Sue) Bellmore, Sandra (Mike) Hayward, Susan (Scott) Haelterman, Debra (Bruce) Kirschner and Peggy (special friend: Brian Gyselink) Bryant; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Anne Wesley; sister-in-law, Lois Bellmore; infant children, Roger, Gordon and Cindy; son-in-law, Toni Bilski; and a granddaughter, Mikala Miller.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Eugene will be at noon on Tuesday at the funeral home with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow services at the St. John Neumann Church in Hermansville.
