Suspects in Minnesota death arrested in Ishpeming Township

ISHPEMING — The Michigan State Police have arrested suspects sought in a Minnesota homicide case.

MSP was notified Monday by the Moorehead Police Department that two individuals wanted in connection with the death of a male Sunday in Moorehead, Minnesota, were believed to be in the Ishpeming area.

MSP detectives located the suspects traveling in a vehicle Monday morning. MSP troopers from Eighth District headquarters made a traffic stop on M-28 near North Second Street in Ishpeming Township. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Both are in the Marquette County Jail awaiting extradition.

The 35-year-old male suspect from Moorehead faces four charges: murder-second degree with intent not premeditated, murder-second degree drive-by shooting, attempted murder-first degree with intent while committing a drive-by shooting, and attempted murder-second degree with intent not premeditated.

A 32-year-old female from Ishpeming is charged with aiding an offender-second degree murder intentional.

The arrest was a coordinated effort between the MSP Special Investigation Section, the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, the Eighth District Traffic Safety Team, the Ishpeming Police Department, the Moorehead Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
