Sheriff issues report

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Sheriff Aaron Rochon has issued his monthly report for March.

The road patrol served 64 civil process papers, investigated 187 complaints, handled 30 accidents, issued 65 citations and 292 verbal warnings, made 22 arrests — nine of which were for outstanding warrants and eight of which were for felonies — and completed 202 property checks. The department made seven transports — one prison, two mental health and four miscellaneous.

The K-9 officer was involved in five searches, including four for local agencies.

The correctional center had 79 bookings, with an average daily booking of 2.5 and an average daily population of 54.6

The dispatch center handled 626 911 calls, 3,565 non-911 calls, 1,784 calls for law enforcement service, 484 calls for ambulance service, and 100 calls for fire service.

Twenty-three individuals assigned to the sheriff’s work van logged 318 hours at the sheriff’s office/courthouse/garage, Feeding America food distributions, local food pickups, Salvation Army, Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency, cleaning at Northern Lights YMCA and dropoffs at Habitat for Humanity Restore.
