ESCANABA — Team registrations are being accepted for the fourth-annual Gladstone Soo Line Steam Engine No. 730 Authority golf scramble on Thursday, May 29, at the Escanaba Country Club.

The entry fee is $360 per four-person team. The tournament format is an 18-hole scramble, and the entry fee includes green fees, dinner, flight prizes, gun and 50-50 raffle.

There will be a chance to win a new Jeep Compass, compliments of O’Connors Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Pickford, for a Hole in One on the 13th green, plus other prize packages on the remaining par 3 holes.

Dinner will be served about 4 p.m. Eastern time and the public is invited to dine with them.

The tournament will have a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Eastern time, with registration beginning at 10 a.m.

The awards ceremony and raffle winners will be announced immediately after the tournament’s completion. Area golfers and families of Soo Line retirees are encouraged to sign up.

Proceeds from this golf scramble go to the continued perpetual care of Soo Line Steam Engine No. 730 and the preservation of other historical railroad artifacts to be added and displayed in their planned history center and museum building for the added value of the community.

This year’s tournament is once again co-hosted by the Community Foundation for Delta County, with all funding being turned over to them in an endowment and unendowed fund.

The Gladstone Soo Line Steam Engine Authority is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is also seeking additional donations to help support the outing.

Companies or individuals who would like to donate items to be used as raffle prizes are welcomed.

Team sign-up sheets are available at the Escanaba Country Club or by contacting John Pickard at 906-241-0888 for more details.
