RIVERLAND — Another of the four occupants in the Amish buggy that was hit by a truck Saturday in Riverland is out of the hospital, while two others remain hospitalized in stable condition.

Deputies were dispatched about 3:28 p.m. Saturday to the Riverland area on 18th Road near H.25 Road, where they found both the truck and buggy were eastbound on 18th Road when the truck struck the horse-drawn buggy, the Delta County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

All four female passengers in the buggy were injured. The male driver of the pickup truck had no injuries.

One buggy passenger had been treated and released from the hospital Sunday.

According to Delta County Deputy Josh Simmons, a second individual was released from the hospital earlier this week.

The other two individuals are hospitalized in Green Bay, Wis., and in Marquette.

Simmons had no more information but said the department is actively investigating the incident.

The community has since stepped up to support the four individuals, setting up a donation account at First Bank and a GoFundMe account.

Donations can be made at any First Bank location under the Amish Family Accident account.

The GoFundMe page can be found on the website by searching “Support for the Cornell Amish Family Recoveries” or at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-the-cornell-amish-family-recoveries. As of 3 p.m. on Thursday, the GoFundMe has raised more than $2,700.

Starting at $3.50/week.
