PEMBINE, Wis. — Voters in the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District on Tuesday approved an operational referendum for the next five years, 634 yes to 472 no.
“Thank you,” District Administrator Lynn Stankevich said in a Facebook post after the results were announced. “The school is the heart of our community and our students and families of the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District appreciate your support.”
The referendum allows the school to exceed the district revenue limit by $800,000 for the next five years. The current $575,000 per year referendum ends June 30, so it will be a property tax increase of $225,000, or 39 cents per $1,000 of property value.
A previous referendum attempt during the Nov. 5 general election had failed, 689 yes to 745 no.
“This means that the funding will be available to cover the day-to-day operational needs, maintain educational programs, staffing, and services for our area’s students,” Stankevich said.

“I believe that our students deserve the best quality education we can provide.”
