NWS issues ice warning in area
IRON MOUNTAIN — An ice storm warning will be in effect from 7 p.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday in Dickinson, Iron and Menominee counties, the National Weather Service said.
Power outages and tree damage are likely and travel could be nearly impossible, NWS said. A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, snow and sleet is predicted today through Sunday.
For the Iron Mountain area, AccuWeather predicts ice accumulations of a quarter-inch to an inch tonight and Sunday, along with an inch or two of new snow.
Today’s predicted high temperature is 38 degrees. The expected high Sunday is 33 degrees.
