Free puppet show on Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN –The Imagination Factory Children’s Museum will be host the puppet show “The Ant and the Grasshopper” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

This show is sponsored by the Dickinson-Iron Great Start Collaborative and admission to the museum is free of charge during attendance of the puppet show.

Ginnie Adams and Mary Wiseheart have presented numerous puppet shows and storytelling events in the community and beyond. Wiseheart has been in the education field for more than 28 years.

For the past 12 years, she has served as an early childhood instructional coach for the Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Ky.

She has presented numerous conferences and worked with teachers to make literacy come alive using various storytelling devices such as puppets, props and visual effects.

Adams fell in love with puppetry during her career in the children’s department at the Dickinson County Library. “Storytelling and puppets have a powerful effect on children, so much can be taught through a good story,” Adams said.

The Imagination Factory Children’s Museum is at 217 W. Hughitt St. in Iron Mountain.
