Dickinson sheriff issues monthly report
IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Sheriff Aaron Rochon has issued his monthly report for January.
The road patrol served 53 civil process papers, investigated 145 complaints, handled 38 accidents, issued 39 citations and 269 verbal warnings, made 18 arrests — eight of which were for outstanding warrants and five of which were for felonies — and completed 217 property checks.
The department conducted nine transports — seven miscellaneous, one to prison and one to mental health treatment in Alpena.
The K-9 officer was involved in 14 searches, including nine for local agencies, and had deployments resulting in two arrests.
The correctional center had 64 bookings, with an average daily booking of two and an average daily population of 48.4
The dispatch center handled 563 911 calls, 4,033 non-911 calls, 1,558 calls for law enforcement service, 532 calls for ambulance service, and 52 calls for fire service.
Twenty-seven individuals assigned to the sheriff’s work van logged 594 hours at the sheriff’s office/courthouse/garage, Feeding America food distributions, local food pickups, Salvation Army and the Habitat for Humanity Restore warehouse.
