ST. IGNACE — Lanes of I-75 were closed in both directions Monday night at the Mackinac Bridge due to a vehicle fire.

The Michigan Department of Transportation sent the notice out just before 9 p.m. Eastern time.

It was unclear how long the closures would last or if there were any injuries, the Soo Leader reported.

The Mackinac Bridge Authority, meanwhile, reported no other significant weather conditions for motorists planning to cross the bridge. Those traveling in the Mackinac Straits area can tune to AM radio 530 or 1610 for condition updates.
