SAULT STE. MARIE — An investigation was ongoing, but Sault. Ste. Marie police said there was no threat to the public after two people were killed Tuesday morning in a shooting at an apartment complex.

While en route to Woodcreek Manor, responders learned that a man shot himself in one of the hallways of the apartment building, police said in a news release. Upon arrival, responders located a man and a woman in the hallway both with gunshot wounds. Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation determined the man and woman had a landlord-tenant relationship and had been involved in a dispute before the shooting.

While police continued their investigation, residents at the apartment complex were relocated temporarily.
