Robbery attempt results in arrest
MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP — A threatened robbery at a Menominee Township motel resulted in an arrest Thursday morning, Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa said.
According to a news release, at approximately 7:35 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the Bay Breeze Motel at N1055 M-35 for the report of a robbery in progress involving a male tenant who stated he had a firearm.
Law enforcement officers from the sheriff’s office and the Menominee Police Department were on scene within minutes and quickly apprehended the subject, Kudwa said. No firearm was located.
The subject was lodged in the Menominee County Jail pending formal charges.
Although the incident remains under investigation, the matter is considered resolved and there is no current threat to the public, Kudwa said.
