No injuries reported in Kingsford apartment fire
KINGSFORD — A fire this morning at Pine Bluff Apartments was contained to one apartment and there were no injuries, Kingsford Public Safety Department said.
KPS was dispatched at 9:17 a.m. to the apartment building on the 600 block of Westwood Avenue, finding a large amount of smoke coming from a second-level apartment, KPS Director Brandon Rutter said in a news release.
Officers evacuated occupants from the building, along with an adjoining second apartment building. They ventilated the building after containing the fire. There was minor smoke and water damage to other apartments, Rutter said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting were Iron Mountain Fire Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Iron Mountain Police Department, Integrity EMS, DTE Energy and We Energies.
The American Red Cross was contacted and advised of the incident.
