IRON MOUNTAIN — Ski jumping fans are encouraged to carpool or take advantage Saturday of a shuttle running from Bay College to Pine Mountain, the Kiwanis Ski Club said.

In past years, the parking lot on Saturday has filled up early for the FIS Continental Cup, so the shuttle is in place to ensure access for all spectators.

Saturday’s schedule calls for a trial round at 10 a.m., followed by competitive rounds at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

A field of 44 jumpers from 10 nations is here for the tournament, which had its first competitive round scheduled for 1 p.m. today, preceded by training and trial jumps at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday’s schedule lists a trial round at 11 a.m. and a competition at 1 p.m.

Times may be adjusted for the weather. Windy conditions limited training activities at the hill Thursday.

“The weekend is looking great,” the ski club said on its Facebook page. Nearly all of the Continental Cup points leaders are on hand, as well as jumpers with World Cup and Olympic experience.

The shuttle from Bay College’s Iron Mountain Campus will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and then again from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Shuttles will run about every 20 minutes to the north gate of the ski jump complex. The cost is $5 per person roundtrip and an admission button is required. Buttons will be available for purchase at the shuttle site.

Prices are $30 for adult buttons, $20 for ages 11 to 17, and free for ages 10 and younger.

The ski club notes that BOSS Snowplow safe rides home will be available until 7 p.m. Saturday. The courtesy shuttle picks up in front of the Popple Palace concession building.

Pine Mountain Road and Lodge Road will be closed to through traffic during the tournament. The closure starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and runs through 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Starting at $2.99/week.
