Kiwanis Ski Club member Peter Monette displays his small replica of the Pine Mountain Ski Jump in Iron Mountain. The Breitung Township resident built the wooden model from old scaffolding he acquired that was taken down when construction of a new jump began in 2020. Monette said it took him about 36 hours to construct. He added it will be used as part of a traveling display for Kiwanis Ski Club speaking engagements and fundraiser events. Monette plans to use the remaining wood to create additional similar models. The piece, as well as a larger replica, will be on display in the Popple Palace, near the entrance to Pine Mountain Resort, for the 2025 FIS Continental Cup tournament.
