Walleye management presentation Jan. 14
FLORENCE, Wis. — Greg Matzke, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources senior fisheries biologist, will present an outdoor education program at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the lower-level conference room at the Florence Natural Resource Center building.
Matzke will talk on how abundant walleye populations are becoming less common, and walleye can also be difficult to catch.
During this presentation, they will walk through all of the major walleye populations in Florence and Forest counties. How is each population doing? What management strategies are we using? What does the future look like for these fisheries? He will also answer questions from the audience.
Participants will have ample time for questions.
The Florence Natural Resource Center building is at 5628 Forestry Drive, on the corner of U.S. 2 and Highway 101/70 in Florence.
