Pembine couple gets prison for repeated child sexual assault
MARINETTE, Wis. — A Pembine, Wis., couple has been sent to prison in connection with the sexual assault of a male teen.
Ronald Novak, 56, was sentenced by Judge Peggy Miller on Dec. 30 in Marinette County Circuit Court to 20 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision for repeated sexual assault of a child that authorities said took place over several years, according to a news release from the Marinette County district attorney’s office. He also received 15 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision on another Class C felony, with the sentences to run consecutively.
Danielle Novak, 45, was sentenced Friday by the same judge to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision for failure to act/sexual assault of a child and 10 years in prison and six years of extended supervision on a related Class C felony, with the sentences again to run consecutively rather than concurrently.
A jury found both guilty on the charges at a joint trial in late October, though Danielle Novak was acquitted on repeated sexual assault of a child.
The charges stemmed from an investigation that began in December 2023, according to the news release from Marinette County District Attorney DeShea Morrow. Detectives contend Ronald Novak sexually assaulted the teen over several years, with Danielle Novak becoming involved after some time.
Another individual, Amber Conery, was sentenced to five years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision in May after earlier pleading no contest to second degree sexual assault of a child involving the same teen, according to online
