Olympic gold medalist Nick Baumgartner, who won mixed team snowboard cross at the Winter Olympics in 2022, was the surprise guest at an event Friday at North Elementary School in Iron Mountain. The school is initiating a new behavior expectation system called GOLD — Generous, Open-minded, Leaders, Determined.
