First baby of 2025 at MMC-D
Lillian Michelle Uren born Friday after delivery date had to be moved up
IRON MOUNTAIN — Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson’s first baby of 2025 waited until the third day of the new year to come into the world.
Eric and Jessica Uren of Crystal Falls welcomed their daughter, Lillian Michelle, at 12:42 p.m. Jan. 3.
The couple’s second child weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Adam Ryan, assisted by Dr. Elise Edwards.
The couple wasn’t expecting to have the New Year’s first baby, as she is two weeks early.
“I had preeclampsia, so they decided she was ready and moved up the date,” Jessica said.
She had to have an emergency C-section with her first son, Rhett, who was born Sept. 13, 2022, and weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces. “This time it was a total 180,” she said. “It was such a good experience.”
The couple knew she was a girl and named her after Jessica’s mother, Michelle.
“My favorite flower is lily of the valley,” she added. “We really liked the name Lillian.”
Lillian’s grandparents are Charles and Belle Uren of Crystal Falls and James Murphy of Lake Linden and the late Michelle Murphy. Great-grandfather is Charlie Sokolski of Green Bay, Wis.
The couple thanks the entire Obstetrics staff for a great experience.
