Donation for new K-9

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office will be adding a new K-9 to their team. Sheriff Randy P. Miller, right, and Deputy Ben Hicks, left, recently accepted a donation of $8,000 from the Karl Zeitler Memorial, presented by Julie Zeitler, for the purchase of the new K-9. Police K-9s are a valuable tool in the war on drugs, search and rescue, and apprehension of criminals. After the loss of their beloved K-9 Dasko this past summer, the addition of this fourth K-9 will bring the department’s K-9 team back to one assigned to each patrol shift, which gives them much-needed consistent coverage throughout the county. Training for the new K-9 and handler Hicks will begin this year at Double Dutch Acres. This donation from the Karl Zeitler Memorial, along with funds from the Marinette County Canine Partners, made possible through generous donations from throughout the community, will fully fund the new K-9. The department would like to sincerely thank all who donated to the K-9 fund and help make this program possible.

Starting at $2.99/week.
