Car crashes into convenience store in Quinnesec
IRON MOUNTAIN — No injuries were reported Thursday night when a vehicle being pursued by Dickinson County deputies crashed into the LaFave BP convenience store on U.S. 2 in Quinnesec, said Dickinson County Undersheriff Christopher Kuenzer.
In a news release, Kuenzer said the driver was not injured, but the gas station did sustain damage. The driver was arrested after a short foot pursuit with deputies, he said.
“The incident still remains under investigation, though alcohol is believed to have been a factor,” Kuenzer said.
Further details were not provided in the release, including the time of the crash and why the pursuit was initiated. The male driver was lodged at the Dickinson County Correctional Facility and his name was not yet released.
The station was reportedly closed at the time of the crash.
Assisting were Iron Mountain Police Department and Kingsford Public Safety Department.
