Norway City Council makes appointments

NORWAY — Norway City Council still needs to fill two vacancies on the city’s planning commission.

Leonard Bietila was reappointed to the planning commission Wednesday, but the two openings remain. Interested community members are urged to seek out the positions, council members said at Wednesday’s meeting.

Other moves Wednesday included:

— Bietila was reappointed to the zoning board of appeals and council member Ricarda Steigerwald was named as the council’s representative on the panel.

— Steve Ortman and Tori Normand were reappointed to three-year terms on the Downtown Development Authority board.

— John Beck and Lisa Wiese were reappointed to the parks and recreation committee.

— Mary Kay Ebeling, Bill VanWolvelaere and Douglas Lindsley were reappointed to the Jake Menghini Museum Board.

— Ron Vivio, Derald Harder and Alison Kalcec were reappointed to the board of tax review.

In other business, the council extended the deadline for winter tax payments from Feb. 18 to Feb. 28.
