Lights at the Lake: Lake Antoine Park Partners host open house Sunday

IRON MOUNTAIN — Lake Antoine Park Partners invites the community to the Lights at the Lake open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Representatives from some of the displays will be present to greet the drive-by visitors and hand out treats.

Kids are to keep on the lookout for Santa, as he often joins the fun.

A non-perishable food collection will be take for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Items can be dropped off at the new bath house area.

This is the fourth year for the annual event, which is put on with the help of almost 50 spirited community groups and businesses, LAPP said.

What is becoming a tradition with families is open from 5 to 10 p.m. seven days a week through New Year’s Day

Spectators are welcome to drive the route as many times as they wish at no cost.

LAPP asks that the light displays depict something about the group or business it represents. Each year they are creative and fun to see.

Again this year, they will conduct a People’s Choice Contest. Three sites will receive cash awards to the charity of the winners’ choice, as well as bragging rights.

The public can vote by the QR codes around the park, or by going to the link on the Lake Antoine Park Partners Facebook page or the website at lakeantoine.org. Paper ballots are also placed outside the campground office.

Voting will conclude Monday, with the winner announced Wednesday.
