MARINETTE, Wis. — A Crivitz, Wis., man was killed Tuesday night in a rollover crash on Marinette County Highway X in the Town of Stephenson.

Chase M. Cutty, 25, was westbound on the highway near Silver Creek Road about 7:30 p.m., trying to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, when he lost control of his vehicle, went into the ditch and struck several trees, according to a news release from Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller. Cutty, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the news release.

Assisting at the crash were the Town of Stephenson Fire Department and Twin Bridge Rescue.
